Day 1 of Organization ~ Introduction & Giveaway

Welcome to Day 1 of Heart of the Matter Online’s 10 Days of Homeschooling Blog Hop! I’m honored and thrilled that you are joining us on this journey. I’ll be blogging for the next 10 days (excluding the weekend) about homeschool organization. I realize that there are different degrees of organization, so feel free to take and use what you need from these posts and leave the rest. Some people need to work up to it slowly; that’s fine, too. These articles are not the complete, definitive end-all of organization; rather, think of them as starting places. So, grab a cup of tea or a can of Diet Coke and settle in for a chat with a friend.

Here’s a peak at what’s coming:
1. Introduction; giveaway announced
2. Start Here
3. Basic scheduling
4. Scheduling for high schoolers
5. Top 10 tools
6. Juggling Act
7. Motivate your kids
8. Car-schooling
9. Library books under the bed
10. On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Giveaway? Did I just see a giveaway? Yes, you did! I’m giving away 1 FREE ticket for Heart of the Matter’s upcoming Winter Conference. Get a big dose of encouragement February 21-23 from such speakers as Carol Barnier, Amanda Bennett, Kim Kautzer, and more. The best part is that you can attend in your jammies! This is an online conference. If you can’t attend all of the sessions live, you’ll be able to listen to the Mp3s later.

Giveaway rules: Everyone who comments at least once on my blog during the 10 Days of Organization (not on Facebook, Twitter, or email) will be entered to win the ticket. You may comment every day (but only once per day) for more chances to win. I will announce the winner on Feb. 21, after the blog hop is over. Be sure to leave your email address with your comment (or another way for me to contact you). This contest is open to anyone living anywhere in the world since it is a virtual conference.

CHANGE: I’m going to announce the winner on FRIDAY, Feb. 18, the last day of the blog hop so you have time to buy your ticket if you didn’t win one.

We have partnered with 16 of the most inspiring, lovely, and just plain awesome bloggers in the homeschool community to bring you 10 days, 160 posts full of resources for those starting out, burned out or need new ideas.

The idea for this blog hop was modified (aka stolen) from Darcy’s 31 Days to a  Better Photo, but that is ok because Amy is her cousin and families are allowed  to do such things. Using this idea we hope that many people in the homeschooling cyber-world feel encouraged, inspired and recharged in their own homes.

Be sure to visit these brilliant women in this 10 days adventure between February 7th-18th! We love these ladies and we know you do, too.

  3. Oh my! Are these going to be posts that I ever need! So looking forward to this series! And I would love to win the giveaway as well. I have been homeschooling for 3 years (my oldest two are 3rd grade and K, and then I have a 3 yr old and a 9 mo old as well). I love homeschooling and we have so much fun but organization is such a struggle. Once I feel like I have a good system worked out something seems to go wrong and it never stays how I envision it. Looking forward to reading more!

  4. I'm a homeschool sponge! I'm a newbie to homeschooling and am sucking up as much info as I can hold. I am a teacher, but I have only ever taught as a substitute. Teaching my own kids, every day, is a whole new ball of wax! I'm excited about this blog hop, and also excited by the chance to win an on line conference, something else I've never done. Looking forward to reading your organizational wisdom.
